A group of Ajax supporters will today be deported from Italy after being caught carrying weapons ahead of Tuesday evening’s Champions League match against Juventus.
Italian police stopped two busses on the outskirts of Turin on Monday, with the authorities on high alert following last week’s first leg tie in Amsterdam.

The incident took place in Turin, home of Italian club Juventus
According to Dutch media outlet NOS, 54 supporters were on the busses stopped by police, with some understood to be in possession of ‘brass knuckles, smoke bombs and firecrackers’.

None of the individuals were arrested during the incident, but they will all be escorted to the border to leave the country.

Before last week’s first leg tie in Amsterdam, over 130 supporters were arrested and water cannons were used as violent clashes broke out outside the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Juventus host their Dutch opponents this evening in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Italians taking a valuable away goal back to Turin for the return fixture.

Near Turin, the police stopped two buses with 54 Ajax supporters. They had brass knuckles, smoke bombs and firecrackers with them. The football fans have not been arrested, but will be kicked out of the country tomorrow morning.
