West Brom manager latest: Baggies hold talks with former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic

West Brom have spoken to former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic about the possibility of becoming the club’s new manager.

The Baggies sacked Darren Moore in March, despite being fourth in the Championship at the time, and they are yet to find a replacement.

Bilic has now become the overwhelming favourite for the job after a successful interview with club officials on Tuesday.

The 50-year-old Croatian was a popular figure during his spell with the Hammers, which ended after two years in 2017 following a poor run of results.

His most recent venture, with Saudi club Al-Lttihad, lasted just five months after he was dismissed in February earlier this year.

It is understood West Brom are also interested in Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder.

The 51-year-old has reportedly grown frustrated with events behind the scenes at Bramall Lane, with co-owners Kevin McCabe and Prince Abdullah currently involved in a High Court case to determine who takes control of the Blades.

Wilder has just led Sheffield United into the Premier League, while West Brom missed out on promotion via the play-offs.

The Italian won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea for, so far, the only time. With results like Wednesday night in the bag, all United need is a kind draw. Could Manchester United do the unthinkable? For a club with the resources and squad that United have, the concept of them being any kind of underdog is laughable.
