Antonio Conte: Former Chelsea boss set to be named Luciano Spalletti’s successor at Inter Milan

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is set for a return to management with Inter Milan.

Conte, who was axed by the Blues last July, will reportedly sign a three or four-year deal at the San Siro, according to the Guardian.

Several other European giants, including Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, had expressed an interest in the 49-year-old.

However, it is believed Conte had his heart set on returning to Serie A and is relishing the challenge of turning Inter into title contenders again.

Another key factor in his imminent arrival at the San Siro is his relationship with the club’s CEO Beppe Marotta.

The pair worked with each other at Juventus between 2011 and 2014, with the Turin giants winning three consecutive league titles during that time.

Inter are currently fourth in Serie A with one game of the season to go and are expected to clinch the final Champions League place.

They are one point ahead of arch rivals Milan in fifth after losing 4-1 to Napoli on Sunday, and face Empoli at home on Sunday while their city rivals play SPAL away.
