Klopp has said more Liverpool stars deserved to make the PFA Team of the Year

Last year’s PFA Player of the Year winner, Mohamed Salah, was left out of the team, despite netting a joint league-high 19 goals this campaign, as well as seven assists.

Anfield boss Klopp, speaking to the media ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Huddersfield on Friday evening, said he believes more Reds players should have been chosen.

“It’s impressive. It’s good and deserved, ” Klopp said. “For me, my team is team of the season anyway.

“From my point of view, there could have been four, five, six, maybe seven more players involved.

“The players in the PL make the decision so it’s the most honest competition of the year, even when the players don’t watch the game.

“When you come in the team as a defender obviously players came up against them and felt uncomfortable.

“Mo deserved to be in there, Gini plays an incredible season, Hendo is in a moment of shape, if it was today he would probably be in. All the players deserve to be in.”

Meanwhile, the German also revealed he was ‘calm’ after watching Manchester City beat rivals Manchester United to return to the top of the Premier League table.
