Former Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis eyes Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino for AC Milan job

Former Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis wants Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino to boss AC Milan, reports claim.

Gazidis left the Emirates to join the Serie A giants in the same role in September and is keen on raiding his old club̢۪s fierce rivals.

Current San Siro boss Gennaro Gattuso is under pressure as AC Milan cling on to a Champions League spot with Atlanta just one point behind them.

His side have gone three games without a win and travel to leaders Juventus on Saturday evening.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claim Gazidis is impressed with the job Pochettino is doing at Tottenham.

Spurs are on course for a fourth successive Champions League finish as they lead fifth-placed Chelsea by one point with six games to go.

They also play Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals this month.

Tottenham’s new £1billion stadium could affect Pochettino’s transfer plans this summer, though.

Spurs will be looking to end their two-window transfer drought by bringing in new faces to freshen up their squad.

Pochettino had been linked with the Manchester United and Real Madrid jobs, but those roles have recently been filled by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Zinedine Zidane.

When asked about his future, Pochettino said: â€Å“It does not depend only on me, it’s about Daniel (Levy). Of course I know he is happy with me and that is what he is telling me.

â€Å“But I understand Tottenham is bigger than one person. Tottenham is bigger than one player, Tottenham is bigger than everything.

“Always, you need to feel my position here is ‘I need to fight every day to keep my position’. That doesn’t mean I am not comfortable.

“It’s difficult to say I am now happy and sure I will be here next season. If I said that and something wrong happened and I’m not here then you say, ‘Oh Pochettino said he will be here and now he’s not here.’”
