Last season’s Premier League title race was one of the closest in history and went right the way to the final day.
Similarly, the Champions League produced some of the most shocking and jaw-dropping moments ever seen in European football history.
Yet somehow, Neil Warnock managed to see through it all predict exactly how the season would end… in October.
The Cardiff City boss was interviewed for Match of the Day after seeing his side taken apart by Liverpool at Anfield, almost exactly a month after Manchester City smashed five past the Bluebirds in Wales.
And his predictions for the end of the season proved to be scarily true.
When asked if the Reds would win the Premier League, he said: “I think they’ve got more chance of winning the Champions League, if I am being honest. They’re that type [of team] with the forwards they’ve got.
“I think City will just be a little bit too strong for them in the league.
“But I do feel this might be their year in the Champions League.”
Less than a month after narrowly losing out to City in the title race, Liverpool beat Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid to lift their sixth major European trophy.
Needless to say, fans would do well to pay attention to any tips the Cardiff boss dishes out next season once his side start their campaign to gain promotion from the Championship once again.
