Jurgen Klopp insists it would not work for him at Liverpool without James Milner.
The manager has transformed the Reds into a force in the Premier League and Europe since taking over in October 2015.
Liverpool finished the 2018/19 Premier League season on 97 points, just a point behind champions Manchester City, and will play in their second successive Champions League final on Saturday.
Klopp will end a run of three cup final losses with Liverpool if his side beat Tottenham in Madrid, LIVE on talkSPORT.
And the former Borussia Dortmund boss has heaped praise on industrious midfielder Milner ahead of the European showdown.
Speaking to UEFA where he was asked to identify his players from their childhood photographs, Klopp did not hesitate when he saw a young ‘Milly’. “Mr Consistent, James Milner,” he said, adding he liked the fact he still sports the same haircut.
“Sports-wise, he’s so talented it’s unbelievable.
“He plays golf close to a professional level, whatever he is doing, it’s on a really high level.
“He can be quite intense because he’s demanding. But he’s a proper leader.
“My meetings, maybe I’m not bad, but without Milly before the game in the dressing room, I don’t think it would work.”
