Liverpool’s season isn’t over yet and as of Tuesday morning they could still end the campaign with the Premier League and Champions League trophies.
Still, the club are already planning for next year, like all good clubs, and plotting their summer transfer business.
It’s hard to improve a side like the one Jurgen Klopp has built but it does seem he will have to refresh portions of his squad, especially given their failures in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Even an injury hit Tottenham side were able to reach the semi-finals of the League Cup and compete in the other competition.
Several stars already look like their careers at Anfield on the ropes, while replacements are being linked, but what’s the latest gossip? Find out below with our handy transfer round-up.

LIVERPOOL JOIN ARSENAL AND CHELSEA IN RACE TO SIGN DAVID NERES – The Sun
Many people are expecting Ajax’s current collection of wonderkids are set to be broken up after their incredible season, domestically and in Europe.
Frenkie de Jong is already heading to Barcelona and rumours have also been circulating about Brazilian winger Neres.
The 22-year-old has come on leaps and bounds this year with the Gunners and the Blues monitoring his situation.
Now, though, Liverpool are also tracking his availability as they face a potential fringe overhaul at Anfield with Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, and Xherdan Shaqiri all having their futures questioned.
OVER AND OUT FOR ORIGI AND STURRIDGE? – Liverpool Echo
As previously mentioned, it seems likely, despite the Anfield faithful’s fondness for both players, they could leave when the final curtain comes down on the campaign, whether it’s on Sunday, or on June 1.
Origi has played his part in the club’s tremendous season with vital goals against Everton and Newcastle United but it might not be enough to get him more games and this may result in his sale. His performance against Barcelona could make or break his career at the club.
Sturridge, meanwhile, is out of contract and, with Rhian Brewster being tipped to start the Champions League clash at Anfield, it’s safe to say Klopp is looking to the future.
RENNES ACE ISMAILA SARR A TARGET – CalcioMercato
Continuing the theme of the Reds’ forward line, it appears Jurgen Klopp has had his spies keeping an eye on Ligue 1 star Sarr.
Mainly a right winger, Sarr would be an excellent backup for Mohamed Salah who has regressed to the mean this season, despite a fine goal tally.
With the correct replacement, Salah could get vital rest at key points in the campaign, perhaps getting him back to last year’s level, and the Senegalese international should provide this more than Shaqiri, who Klopp seems unwilling to lean on when the going gets tough.
His 10 goals and eight assists in domestically and in the Europa League will make a him a target for several sides this summer. He can also play on the left if required.
COAD-RED! LIVERPOOL SET FOR DRAMEH DRAMA? – Daily Mail
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly considering a summer raid on Fulham as they track wonderkid right-back Cody Drameh.
The 17-year-old, who has one year left on his current scholarship, has been earning rave reviews while playing for Mark Pembridge’s Under-23s.
Eintracht Frankfurt are also keeping tabs on the youngster, who has earned comparisons with Trent Alexander-Arnold, could come in to battle with the 20-year-old as Joe Gomez continues on the road to being an excellent centre-back partner for Virgil van Dijk.
The arrival of Drameh would also allow Dutch starlet Ki-Jana Hoever focus on playing at centre-back having been used as a full-back for Liverpool’s Under-23s.

MORENO HEADING TO BENFICA? – A Bola
The left-back has been a bit-part star for some time now after a couple of mistake-riddled campaigns.
He’s now set to leave on a free transfer and, after previous links with Barcelona, who may need a backup to Jordi Alba, depending on their plan for Juan Miranda and Marc Cucurella.
Portuguese giants Benfica, though, could hand Moreno first-team football next year as they prepare for the possibility of losing highly-rated full-back Alex Grimaldo, who is wanted by a whole host of top European clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Juventus.
KLOPP TO RETURN FOR MARCO ASENSIO? – Mundo Deportivo
Liverpool reportedly went in for the Real Madrid ace last summer but missed out as the youngster looked set to blossom without Cristiano Ronaldo hogging the limelight.
Sadly, it’s not quite worked out for the talented Spaniard and he’s found first-team minutes hard to come by in a season of struggles in Madrid.
Reds boss Klopp, though, remains keen on the 23-year-old, who he feels has plenty still to offer, despite a poor campaign.
The main stumbling block is set to be club president Florentino Perez as he seems unwilling to allow Asensio to quite the Bernabeu.
